Job summary

Kadima Rehabilitation & Nursing at Irwin is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to lead the nursing team and support the Director of Nursing in staffing, education, and ensuring high-quality patient care in a long-term care setting.

The ADON will supervise admissions, coordinate daily activities, and ensure compliance with Medicare/Medicaid regulations while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment for residents in Pennsylvania.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN license in Pennsylvania.
• At least a nursing degree from an accredited program.
• Two or more years of supervisor experience in a hospital, long-term care, or related health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adequate 24-hour nursing coverage in the facility.
• Assist the Director of Nursing in determining staffing needs.
• Monitor staff education and conduct in-service training as necessary.
• Resolve personnel issues and motivate staff to ensure quality patient care.
• Develop work assignments and schedule duty hours with nursing supervisors.
• Delegate authority to Charge Nurses and Nurse Supervisors for assigned duties.
• Supervise admissions/readmissions for Medicare eligibility or denial.
• Notify providers within 24 hours of resident status changes.
• Conduct daily rounds to ensure nursing staff adhere to standards.
• Provide residents with a clean, safe environment and oversee medication passes and treatments.
• Provide direct nursing care as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure adequate 24-hour nursing coverage in the facility

• Assist the DON in determining the staffing needs of the nursing service department

• Monitor staff education and conduct in-service training as necessary

• Resolve personnel problems and build into the nursing program maximum employee motivation, keeping employees informed of current changes that affect their ability in providing quality patient care

• Develop work assignments and schedule duty hours, and/or assist nursing supervisory staff in completing or performing such tasks

• Delegate to the Charge Nurse(s) and Nurse Supervisor(s) the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability to perform their assigned duties

• Supervise all admissions and readmissions for eligibility or denial of Medicare Skilled services regulations

• Notify all providers, in writing, within 24 hours of resident status of eligibility for skilled services and changes

• Make daily rounds of the nursing department to ensure that all nursing personnel are performing their work assignment in accordance with acceptable nursing standards. Report findings to DON

• Provide residents with a comfortable, clean, orderly, and safe environment

• Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules to ensure that medications are being administered as ordered and that treatments are provided as scheduled

• Provide direct nursing care as necessary

• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.

• Must possess, as a minimum, a degree in Nursing from an accredited school.

• BSN degree preferred.

• Two (2) or more years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility required.

• Previous long-term care experience is preferred.
