Civic Center Health And Rehabilitation LLC in Birmingham, AL seeks an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to oversee daily clinical operations and mentor nursing staff. This leadership role ensures regulatory compliance and resident-centered care.

The ADON will supervise nurses and CNAs, coordinate care plans, participate in audits, and serve as acting DON when needed. RN licensure in Alabama and 2+ years of nursing experience are required.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Alabama.
• At least two years of nursing experience.
• Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead a team with professionalism and compassion.
• Excellent communication with staff, residents, and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily clinical operations.
• Supervise, guide, and support nurses and nursing assistants.
• Ensure care plans are implemented and updated appropriately.
• Monitor resident conditions and communicate changes to physicians and families.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
• Participate in audits, quality assurance, and infection control initiatives.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and overall clinical workflow.
• Support staffing coordination and scheduling needs.
• Mentor and develop nursing staff to strengthen the clinical team.
• Serve as acting DON in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
