Job summary

The Blossoms is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in Newport, AR. The ADON will help plan, organize, direct, and evaluate nursing services, ensuring harmony across departments and a holistic, rehabilitative approach to maximize resident independence.

  • Unencumbered, active RN license in Arkansas or compact license.
  • Recommended advanced education and/or managerial experience in nursing.

  • Competent decision-making skills with creative initiative and mature judgment.
  • Proficiency in computer applications relevant to job duties.
  • Access to reliable transportation for flexible work scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Supervision: Assist in managing daily operations and support strategic planning and evaluation of nursing services.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Quality Improvement: Establish objectives and standards for nursing in compliance with regulatory requirements. Conduct quality indicator audits for improvement.
  • Resident Care Oversight: Conduct resident rounds to monitor care quality and directly involve in patient care as needed.
  • Staffing Management: Ensure efficient staffing to meet resident needs and manage the department in the DON's absence.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Facilitate communication about resident status changes and establish rapport with all stakeholders.
  • Policy and Procedure Implementation: Implement nursing care standards and policies, working the floor when necessary.
  • Professional Development and Training: Lead nursing staff training and development, promoting excellence and continuous improvement.
