Sonoma Post Acute, located in Sonoma, California, is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team. This full-time role partners with the Director of Nursing to oversee daily nursing operations and drive quality outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds an active California RN license, 3-5 years of nursing leadership, and a passion for resident-centered care. We offer competitive hourly pay of $50.00–$55.00 with comprehensive benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license in good standing.
• 3-5 years of nursing leadership or management experience.
• Knowledge of long-term care and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily nursing operations with the Director of Nursing.
• Plan, develop, implement and supervise nursing services.
• Provide leadership and support to licensed nurses and staff.
• Conduct daily clinical rounds and monitor resident conditions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
• Recruit, onboard, train, and retain nursing staff.
• Coach staff and conduct performance evaluations.
• Promote resident safety, dignity, and quality of care.
• Serve as liaison between residents, families, physicians, and the team.
• Provide staff education and ongoing clinical in-services.
• Monitor systems to ensure high-quality care delivery.
• Provide direct resident care when needed.
• Act as Director of Nursing in absence.

What You'll Do

• Partner with the Director of Nursing to oversee daily nursing operations
• Assist with planning, developing, implementing, and supervising nursing services
• Provide leadership and support to licensed nurses and nursing staff
• Conduct daily clinical rounds and monitor resident conditions
• Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of nursing staff
• Participate in employee coaching, performance evaluations, and disciplinary processes when needed
• Promote resident safety, dignity, rights, and quality of care
• Serve as a liaison between residents, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team
• Assist with staff education programs and ongoing clinical in-services
• Monitor clinical systems and processes to ensure consistent, high-quality care delivery
• Provide direct resident care and clinical support as necessary
• Act as the Director of Nursing in their absence

Qualifications

Required

• Active California RN license in good standing
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• 3-5 years of nursing leadership or nurse management experience
• Strong knowledge of long-term care, skilled nursing, and regulatory compliance
• Experience supervising clinical staff in a healthcare setting
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Preferred

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Post-Acute experience
• Knowledge of PointClickCare (PCC) software
