We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to partner with our Director of Nursing and help lead the clinical operations of our skilled nursing community.

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing in the leadership, organization, and oversight of nursing services at Spring River Rehabilitation & Care Center.
The ADON assists with clinical operations, resident-care oversight, nursing staff development, staffing, clinical documentation, quality improvement, infection prevention, regulatory compliance, survey readiness, and resident outcomes.
This position serves as a clinical resource for Nurses and CNAs while helping ensure nursing services are delivered safely, consistently, and in accordance with resident needs, provider orders, care plans, facility procedures, and applicable requirements.
The ADON should be a visible and hands‑on nursing leader who is comfortable rounding throughout the facility, coaching employees, addressing clinical concerns, and assisting the nursing team when necessary.
Assist the Director of Nursing with the daily leadership and operation of the Nursing Department
Maintain a visible leadership presence throughout the facility
Round routinely with residents and nursing employees
Monitor nursing operations and identify clinical or operational concerns requiring follow‑up
Serve as a clinical resource for RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other nursing team members
Help establish expectations for clinical quality, accountability, professionalism, and resident‑centered care
Assist with resolving clinical concerns and barriers affecting resident care
Provide nursing leadership in the absence of the Director of Nursing as assigned
Promote effective communication between nursing shifts and departments
Monitor nursing documentation for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
Assist with clinical audits and documentation reviews
Promote effective communication of resident‑care information between shifts
Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and retaining nursing employees
Support orientation of newly hired Nurses and CNAs
Provide ongoing coaching, education, and clinical guidance
Support employee engagement and retention efforts
Monitor overtime and staffing utilization
Support recruitment efforts for open nursing positions
Promote responsible staffing practices while maintaining resident‑care needs
Monitor clinical indicators and resident outcomes
Review falls, wounds, infections, weight changes, hospital transfers, medication concerns, and other clinical events
Identify trends and opportunities for improvement
Assist with maintaining Nursing Department compliance with applicable federal, state, and facility requirements
Support ongoing survey readiness throughout the facility
Conduct routine clinical rounds and audits
Ensure nursing employees understand applicable policies and clinical expectations
Promote appropriate infection‑prevention and control practices throughout Nursing
Monitor staff compliance with hand hygiene, PPE, and applicable precautions
Monitor resident safety concerns and appropriate interventions
Review accidents, incidents, falls, injuries, and other resident‑safety events
Monitor medication and treatment administration practices
Review medication errors, omissions, refusals, and other medication‑related concerns
Assist with identifying trends and implementing corrective action
Follow up to ensure concerns are appropriately addressed
Promote trust and effective communication between residents, families, and the nursing team
Ensure residents are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect
Promote resident independence and individual choice whenever possible
Respect resident preferences, routines, privacy, and personal decisions
