Job summary

Spring River Rehabilitation & Care Center in Roswell, NM seeks an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to partner with the Director of Nursing and lead clinical operations for the skilled nursing community.

This RN leader will drive resident-centered care, clinical documentation quality, infection prevention, and staff development while ensuring regulatory compliance and survey readiness.

Qualifications

• RN license required and active in good standing.
• Experience in nursing leadership and clinical operations preferred.
• Ability to coach and develop nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs).
• Knowledge of federal/state regulations and survey readiness.
• Strong focus on resident-centered care and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Nursing in daily leadership and operation of the Nursing Department.
• Maintain a visible leadership presence and round with staff and residents.
• Monitor documentation and clinical quality indicators; lead audits and reviews.
• Recruit, onboard, and retain nursing staff; provide coaching and guidance.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and overtime to meet resident needs.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and infection prevention practices.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and survey readiness across the facility.
• Coordinate effective communication between shifts and departments.
