Job summary

Medford Multicare Center in New York seeks an Assistant Director of Maintenance to oversee daily operations of the Maintenance Department in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting. This temporary role focuses on preventative maintenance, safety, and timely repairs to keep residents and staff comfortable.

You will collaborate across departments, supervise maintenance staff, coordinate vendors, and participate in emergency preparedness.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years maintenance experience; healthcare/long-term care preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform repairs efficiently.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Maintenance with day-to-day operations of the Maintenance Department.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine repairs throughout the facility.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and building systems.
• Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs promptly.
• Conduct safety inspections and help ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain facility equipment, resident rooms, and common areas.
• Complete work orders and maintain maintenance logs.
• Assist with vendor coordination and oversee contracted services.
• Participate in emergency preparedness and on-call when required.
• Collaborate with all departments to provide a safe, clean environment.
