Job summary

The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee is seeking an Assistant Director of Housekeeping to lead daily operations, uphold luxury cleanliness, and drive service excellence across guest rooms and public areas.

Collaborate with the Director of Housekeeping to coach and develop teams, manage staffing and budgets, and ensure adherence to brand standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; degree in Hospitality Management preferred.
• Experience leading housekeeping in luxury environments is a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills are essential.
• Comfort with budgeting, scheduling, and inventory controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily housekeeping operations in partnership with the Director of Housekeeping.
• Analyze operational challenges and implement efficiency and quality improvements.
• Assist in managing department budgets, inventory, and labor costs.
• Coach and develop housekeeping staff to meet service standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms and public spaces for brand compliance.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and daily assignments; ensure adequate coverage.

What you will be doing

• Partner with the Director of Housekeeping to lead daily department operations and ensure exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Analyze operational challenges and recommend solutions that drive efficiency, quality, and guest satisfaction.
• Assist in managing departmental budgets, inventory controls, labor expenses, and financial performance.
• Lead, coach, and support housekeeping associates to achieve departmental goals and service excellence.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and employee spaces to ensure compliance with brand and hotel standards.
• Oversee staffing needs, scheduling, and daily work assignments.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

Position Requirements

• Previous management experience in housekeeping, preferably within a luxury hotel or upscale hospitality environment.
• High school diploma required; degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning procedures, equipment, and chemical safety practices.
• Experience with Opera PMS or similar hotel management systems strongly preferred.
• Ability to maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment while delivering exceptional guest service

Salary Range:

$60,000 - $68,000 based on experience
