Job summary

The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee is seeking an Assistant Director of Housekeeping to help lead our luxury operations and maintain impeccable guest spaces.

Responsibilities include partnering with the Director to drive daily operations, oversee staffing and scheduling, conduct inspections, and coach teams to deliver exceptional service. A hospitality background and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience in housekeeping, preferably in luxury hotels.
• High school diploma required; hospitality degree preferred.
• Proven ability to motivate, develop, and retain teams.
• Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Opera PMS or similar systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily housekeeping operations in partnership with the Director.
• Analyze challenges and implement efficiency improvements.
• Assist in managing budgets, inventory, and labor costs.
• Coach and develop housekeeping associates to meet standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms and public spaces.
• Oversee staffing needs, scheduling, and daily assignments.

What You Will Be Doing

• Partner with the Director of Housekeeping to lead daily department operations and ensure exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Analyze operational challenges and recommend solutions that drive efficiency, quality, and guest satisfaction.
• Assist in managing departmental budgets, inventory controls, labor expenses, and financial performance.
• Lead, coach, and support housekeeping associates to achieve departmental goals and service excellence.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and employee spaces to ensure compliance with brand and hotel standards.
• Oversee staffing needs, scheduling, and daily work assignments.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

Position Requirements

• Previous management experience in housekeeping, preferably within a luxury hotel or upscale hospitality environment.
• High school diploma required; degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning procedures, equipment, and chemical safety practices.
• Experience with Opera PMS or similar hotel management systems strongly preferred.
• Ability to maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment while delivering exceptional guest service

Salary Range: $60,000 - $68,000 based on experience
