Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in higher education student financial services or financial systems.
  • Must be detail oriented with strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including vlookups and pivot tables is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive, professional, and friendly service in all interactions.
  • Ensure accuracy of the student account and manage daily billing/receivable updates.
  • Process financial aid disbursements in accordance with federal regulations and BAC policies.
  • Process student refunds and anticipated aid to the billing system.
  • Collaborate with Enrollment Management and Student Life to support housing billing and payments.
  • Serve as backup to Student Advocates for escalated situations and frontline service.

Assistant Director of Financial AccessPOSITION SUMMARY:The Boston Architectural College (BAC) is committed to providing all our students an integrated and exemplary educational experience while ensuring their individual success and empowering them to fully actualize their potential.The Assistant Director of Financial Access plays a pivotal role in helping students realize their academic dreams by providing exceptional service and support while they navigate resolving their financial account each semester.The Assistant Director of Financial Access coordinates timely and accurate processing student account transactions including charges and financial aid disbursements, while working closely with colleagues to foster a professional, knowledgeable, and welcoming environment for all BAC constituents.An objective, compassionate and detail-oriented person will thrive in this role.PRIMARY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Provide proactive, professional, and friendly service in all interactions.Ensure accuracy of the student account managing daily billing/accounts receivable updates.Working closely with the financial aid administrators to process financial aid disbursements in accordance with all Federal Title IV regulations and BAC policies and procedures.Process student refunds each week in accordance with Federal Title IV regulations and BAC policies and procedures.Process anticipated aid from Financial Aid system (PowerFaids) to PowerCampus.Work closely with Student Life to manage billing and payment confirmation for housing students.Review and recommend internal payment arrangements for students who have not resolved their financial obligations.Manage the review and processing of uncashed student refund checks.Collaborate with a team of colleagues across Enrollment Management to onboard our first semester students.Communicate efficiently and collaboratively with other offices around the College to provide the highest level of service to our students.Serve as backup to the Student Advocates for escalated situations and front-line service when needed.Provide backup assistance to the Student Billing Representative on all tasks.Other tasks as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred.2-5 years of experience in higher education student financial services or financial systems.FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL SKILLS:Must be detail oriented.Strong computer skills, including effective use of Microsoft Office suite.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the use of vlookups and pivot tables a plus.Excellent communication and consultative skills, both verbal and written.Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills.Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize.Ability and willingness to support collaborative efforts.Be committed to the mission of the BAC and carry out the highest quality of service to BAC constituencies.WORK SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:This is a full-time exempt position of 40 hours per weekThis is a hybrid position. At least 2 days a week in person will be required. Days in the office may vary depending on the time of year and the needs of the office.Must be able to work flexible hours in accordance with the academic season.ORGANIZATION:This position reports to the Director of Student Financial ServicesThis position does NOT have supervisory responsibilities
