Roessel Joy is partnering with a luxury hotel in the Boston area to recruit an Assistant Director of Finance. The role oversees a trio of accountants, driving the month-end close and partnering with the Director of Finance on reporting, budgeting, audits, and controls.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance with 3–5+ years in hotel finance, strong month-end close experience, and familiarity with hospitality software. Onsite benefits accompany this leadership opportunity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5+ years of experience as an Assistant Controller (or similar) in the hotel/hospitality industry.
• Strong month-end close background.
• Experience at an independent or boutique hotel is a plus.
• Familiarity with Hospitality/Hotel software.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process and prepare the monthly P&L.
• Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting and analysis.
• Maintain general ledger integrity (journal entries and reconciliations).
• Interview, train, schedule, and coach accounting staff.
• Maintain strong accounting and operational controls to safeguard assets and manage risk.
• Monitor applicable taxes to ensure accurate collection/accrual.
• Support budget reviews and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Assist with capital expenditure planning and ROI analysis.

We are partnering with an award-winning luxury hotel in the Boston area for an Assistant Director of Finance search to work closely with the Finance Leadership team and oversee and mentor a team of accountants.

This is a fully onsite, hands-on leadership role overseeing a team of three accountants and owning the month-end close process from start to finish. You'll partner closely with the Director of Finance on financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting, audit and control, reconciliations, cash management, and owner reporting.

As the Assistant Director of Finance, you will:

• Own the month-end close process and prepare the monthly P&L
