Job summary

Hyatt Centric Park City is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Engineering to lead our hotel’s interior, exterior, and building systems in a luxury setting at Canyons Village. You will oversee HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing and electrical operations, manage a skilled Engineering team, and ensure safe, efficient hotel performance while directing preventive maintenance and capital projects.

Your role includes ensuring OSHA compliance and coordinating with restaurant and guest service teams

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of engineering management experience, preferably in a luxury hotel.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the hotel’s interior, exterior, and building systems including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing and electrical.
• Lead the Engineering team, manage daily operations, and direct routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance.
• Assist with OSHA compliance, fire, environmental, and local safety regulations; support capital projects.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with hotel departments as needed.

The Assistant Director of Engineering oversees the hotel’s interior, exterior, and building systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical. This role leads the Engineering team, manages daily operations, and directs routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable hotel operations.

The Assistant Director of Engineering also manages preventive maintenance records. This position assists with compliance with OSHA, fire, environmental, and local safety regulations; supports capital projects and equipment replacement planning; and responds to emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or bachelor’s degree preferred
• Knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical systems
• Experience with hotel building systems, soldering, and brazing preferred
• Universal Refrigeration Certification and CPO certification preferred
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to train and mentor team members
• Proficiency with mechanical equipment, maintenance tools, and work-order systems
• Fluent English communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus
• Ability to work on-call, respond to emergencies, and coordinate with hotel departments
• Ability to lift, climb, stand, walk, and work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions
