Job summary

Summerlin Hospital, part of Valley Health System owned by Universal Health Services, seeks an Assistant Director of Pharmacy to lead operations and ensure cost-effective, high-quality pharmaceutical services. You will plan new services, direct day-to-day activities, and integrate pharmacy with patient care teams to support continuity of care.

The role requires a PharmD/BS Pharmacy, Nevada license, 5+ years in pharmacy leadership (8–10 preferred), and strong MS Office and automation experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (BS Pharm).
• Minimum five years of experience; eight to ten years preferred; prior director/assistant director/clinical manager experience.
• Thorough knowledge of pharmacy operations and MS Office; automation experience and reporting features.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Assistant Director of Pharmacy manages the operations of Pharmacy Services in a cost‑effective manner, including planning for new services, directing day‑to‑day operations, delegating responsibility and authority for providing services, continuously improving services to meet customer needs, assuring adequate resources are available, and integrating services with other professional services within and outside the medical center to assure continuity of care.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (BS Pharm)

Experience: Minimum of five years (5) required. Eight to ten years preferred. Prior experience as a director of pharmacy, an assistant director of pharmacy, clinical manager or lead role is required.

Technical Skills: Thorough knowledge of pharmacy operations. Software skills using MS office, proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel, some knowledge of MS Access is required. Automation experience with knowledge of reporting features i.e., optimization, load/unload, nursing narcotic.

License/Certification: Current Pharmacist license in the State of Nevada
