Job summary

Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas, NV, a 485-bed facility with emergency services, a busy maternity department and a NICU, seeks a licensed pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care, medication distribution, patient counseling and teaching.

The ideal candidate holds a BS Pharm, NV Pharmacist license, and has hospital experience or is motivated to join a dynamic, high-volume environment with automation, reporting capabilities, and a commitment to quality and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (BS Pharm) and Nevada Pharmacist license.
• Hospital experience preferred (1 year).
• Automation experience and ability to use reporting features.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care including drug distribution, patient counseling and education.
• Fill medication orders, monitor therapies and provide drug information to patients and staff.

Summerlin Hospital is a 485-bed hospital featuring emergency services; a busy maternity department with an average of 450 deliveries per month; a Children’s Medical Center with a NICU, a pediatric ICU and separate pediatric ER; advanced cardiovascular care, surgical services, women’s health, and oncology care. Summerlin Hospital is an accredited Chest Pain with PCI facility and a Primary Stroke Center and has received multiple awards from the American Heart Association Get with the Guidelines program.

Job Description

Provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution, patient counseling and teaching. Fill orders for medications, monitor patient’s drug therapies and provide drug information.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (BS Pharm)
• Experience: One (1) year experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Technical Skills: Automation experience with knowledge of reporting features (i.e., optimization, load/unload, nursing narcotic access, etc.)
• License/Certification: Current Pharmacist License in the State of Nevada
