Job summary

The Valley Health System’s Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas, NV is seeking an Assistant Director of Pharmacy to lead day-to-day operations, drive service improvement, and ensure cost-effective, high-quality pharmaceutical care. The role requires a BS Pharmacy, a valid Nevada Pharmacist license, and a minimum of five years in pharmacy leadership, with eight to ten years preferred.

Job Description

The Assistant Director of Pharmacy manages the operations of Pharmacy Services in a cost-effective manner, including planning for new services, directing day-to-day operations, delegating responsibility and authority for providing services, continuously improving services to meet customer needs, assuring adequate resources are available, and integrating services with other professional services within and outside the medical center to assure continuity of care.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (BS Pharm)

Experience

Minimum of five years (5) required. Eight to ten years preferred. Prior experience as a director of pharmacy, an assistant director of pharmacy, clinical manager or lead role is required.

Technical Skills

Thorough knowledge of pharmacy operations. Software skills using MS office, proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel, some knowledge of MS Access is required. Automation experience with knowledge of reporting features i.e., optimization, load/unload, nursing narcotic.

License/Certification

Current Pharmacist license in the State of Nevada
