Job summary

Purdue University Northwest seeks an Assistant Director for Student Life - Programming & Administration to support Hammond Student Life and Registered Student Organizations (RSO). The role supervises student workers and manages office and RSO budgets, while coordinating programming and communications on campus.

The position engages with campus and community partners to plan events and trainings. Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Two years of experience working with students in a college environment.
  • Experience managing RSOs and campus events preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Daily oversight of RSOs and RSO communication.
  • Organize and facilitate monthly RSO training for RSO officers.
  • Develop and maintain RSO Orientations, Trainings, assist with updating manuals for RSOs, student workers, and office.
  • Manage the RSO Purchasing Cards with the administrative assistant of the Office of Student Life.
  • Track and maintain the RSO and office budgets.
  • Work closely with the Office of Student Life Graduate Assistant on RSO management.
  • Plan and implement social programming for the Hammond Campus, including partnering with campus and community partners and identifying a budget for small scale events and tracking expenditures.
  • Will involve purchasing and occasional trips to various shopping locations to support events.
  • This may include assisting with large scale Office of Student Life Events such as the Welcome Rally.
  • This includes supervision of all students assigned to assist with programs on the Hammond campus.
  • Manage the Hammond Student Life Office, including the upkeep of all technology items for the Hammond office and ensuring the office environment is staffed and running efficiently and effectively.
  • This includes supervision of all student office staff.
  • Manage the Hammond Food Pantry in coordination with the PNW Pantry Committee.

Overview of Assistant Director for Student Life - Programming & Administration

The Deparment of Student Life at Purdue University Northwest isseeking an Assistant Director for Student Life - Programming andAdministration. This position will support Hammond Student LifeRegistered Student Organizations (RSO), programming, and manage theoffice. Included in this position is supervision of all studentworkers for Hammond as well as office and RSO budget andmanagement.

Salary:
  • $55,00 - $60,000
Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday, Typically 8am – 5pm with occasional eveningand weekend work; will flex work schedule to accommodate
