Job summary

Arizona State University is seeking an Administrative Operations Manager 2 to oversee the intermediate to complex operations of a department, monitor budgets, implement strategic priorities, and prepare reports for senior management.

Based at the Tempe campus with Sun Devil Fitness and Wellness, you will manage daily fitness program operations, staff supervision, and program logistics, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for students and community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience including two (2) years managerial experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Experience leading fitness programs and supervising staff.
• Proven ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple projects.
• Valid Personal Training and/or Group Fitness Instructor certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of fitness programs (group fitness, personal training, small group training, weight rooms).
• Coordinate program offerings (cycle, Pilates, yoga, strength training) and supervise scheduling and logistics.
• Ensure spaces meet safety, policy, and risk management standards; monitor participation and revenue.
• Lead staff recruitment, training, coaching, and performance evaluations; manage payroll and budgets.
• Support marketing, promotion, and campus partnerships for wellness initiatives.
• Availability for occasional evenings and weekends.
