Job description

A leading global professional services organization is seeking an Assistant Director of Events & Sponsorships to lead and evolve its U.S. events and sponsorships program.

This newly created leadership role will oversee a sophisticated portfolio of client events, sponsorships, alumni programs, executive meetings, conferences, retreats, and major organization-wide events. Combining strategic leadership with operational excellence, the successful candidate will help establish a more consistent, scalable, and commercially focused approach to events.

A key part of the mandate will be modernization. The role will leverage technology, AI-enabled tools, automation, and data to enhance the attendee experience, improve operational efficiency, and provide greater insight into event performance and business impact.

Please note - this role can be based in multiple office locations across the US, and does require 4x in office per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Events & Sponsorships team, establishing clear priorities, workflows, and service standards.
  • Oversee U.S. events and sponsorship initiatives across multiple office locations.
  • Lead major client, alumni, executive, and organization-wide events from concept and planning through on-site delivery and post-event evaluation.
  • Partner closely with senior leadership and Marketing & Business Development teams to ensure events support wider commercial and relationship-development priorities.
  • Establish consistent event production and brand standards while allowing appropriate flexibility across different markets.
  • Introduce and optimize event technologies, AI-enabled tools, automation, CRM platforms, and analytics to improve planning, personalization, attendee engagement, and reporting.
  • Build strategic vendor relationships and develop a more centralized approach to procurement across venues, production, technology, transportation, and other event services.
  • Oversee event and sponsorship budgets, vendor expenditure, ROI, forecasting, and opportunities for greater operational efficiency.
About You

You will be an accomplished events leader with significant experience delivering sophisticated, high-profile programs within professional services, corporate, or similarly complex environments.

You will bring strong people leadership and project management capabilities, together with experience managing large-scale, multi-day events, senior stakeholders, vendors, contracts, and substantial budgets. Experience using event technology, CRM platforms, automation, AI-enabled tools, and data analytics to improve operations and outcomes will also be important.

Collaborative, commercially minded, and service-oriented, you will be comfortable operating with senior stakeholders while balancing strategic priorities with the detail required to deliver exceptional experiences. You will be calm under pressure, solutions-focused, and motivated by the opportunity to build scalable processes and introduce new ways of working.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to shape the next phase of a sophisticated events and sponsorships function within a large international organization. The successful candidate will have meaningful scope to improve technology, processes, partnerships, and production standards while positioning events as an increasingly powerful platform for client engagement, brand reputation, and business development.
