Commonwealth of VA Careers in Norfolk, VA seeks an Assistant Director for Employer Programs to lead employer relations and campus recruitment initiatives. You will design programs, manage relationships with employers, and coordinate on-campus events to expand opportunities for students and alumni.

The role supports career exploration and development, offers guidance for internships and co-ops, and drives strategic goals across the Center for Career and Leadership Development (CCLD).

Qualifications

• Considerable knowledge of employer relations and university recruiting practices.
• Understanding of event planning processes and career center programs.
• Strong presentation and written communication skills with deadlines.
• Ability to work with employers in one-on-one and group settings.
• Experience with career coaching for students or adult learners.
• Familiarity with career development theories and NACM/NACE competencies.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain relationships with local, regional, national, and international employers.
• Design, implement and assess employer programs, events, and on‑campus recruitment activities.
• Support student and alumni access to full-time, part-time, internships, and co-ops.
• Collaborate with campus partners to meet strategic goals and employer needs.
