Job summary

Building Blocks Learning Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA seeks an Assistant Director to partner with the Director in daily operations, ensure licensing compliance, support teachers, and maintain a safe, nurturing environment for children from 6 weeks to 12 years.

You will coach staff in classroom practice, model effective teaching, engage families, manage enrollment records, and help with scheduling, budgets, and quality program delivery.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in early childhood education with supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of DHS, DOE regulations, and Keystone STARS standards.
• Experience directly working with children in classroom settings and coaching teachers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director with daily operations and licensing compliance.
• Support teachers with curriculum planning and classroom coaching.
• Engage families and coordinate events to foster partnerships.
• Recruiting, onboarding, and staff development support.
• Assist with budgeting, tuition tracking, and record-keeping.
