Job summary

Augusta University is seeking an Assistant Director of Testing & Disability Services at the Summerville Campus to coordinate accommodations and assistive technology for students with disabilities. The role involves direct student interaction, intake, and testing logistics.

You will supervise staff, coordinate testing arrangements, advise faculty on accessibility, and ensure compliance with ADA/504 and OCR policies while supporting student success.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's in related field with experience.
• Experience in higher education preferred.
• Knowledge of ADA, Section 504 and OCR rulings in higher education.
• Ability to recognize legal risk related to disability issues.
• Knowledge of accommodations for disabilities in academic settings.

Responsibilities

• Determine eligibility for disability-related accommodations through interactive process with students.
• Educates students on documentation requirements and refers to external agencies when necessary.
• Develops and issues accommodation letters for faculty and staff.
• Oversees the provision of alternative testing accommodations and testing logistics.
• Advises faculty and staff on accessibility concerns in courses, labs, and programs.
• Mantains up-to-date knowledge of ADA/504/OCR policies related to disability access.
• Supervises staff located at the Health Sciences campus and oversees Work Study employees.
• Coordinates professional development for staff and student employees.
• Provides instruction and support in assistive technology.
• Leads outreach to incoming students and participates in orientation activities.
