Job summary

Knox College is seeking an Assistant Director of Career Success to envision, develop, market, and manage a full spectrum of career exploration and professional development programs for students and alumni. This role partners with faculty, staff, and recruiters to ensure timely, relevant resources and opportunities.

The position reports to the Director of The Bastian Family Center for Career Success and will lead a team, deliver individual coaching, and coordinate virtual and in-person

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum three years of experience working in a higher education setting, preferably in career development.
• Self-started with ability to coach and motivate others with a genuine desire to work with college students.
• Proven program planning and execution skills with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent writing, public speaking, networking and interpersonal communication skills with ability to build rapport with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Ideate and develop holistic career and professional development programs.
• Develop a comprehensive program development strategy with the Director.
• Lead the creation of an online self-service career content resource.
• Supervise a team of student career peer leaders.
• Assist students and alumni with career decision-making and opportunities.
• Advise students and alumni on resumes, cover letters, job search strategies, and graduate school prep.
• Build and maintain relationships with faculty and student groups to market initiatives.
• Stay up-to-date on trends affecting the future of work.
• Participate in employer engagement and recruiting
• Gather and report annual student outcomes and program effectiveness.
• Create and post marketing materials for student programs on social media weekly.
• Travel for career and association programs and events; some evenings and weekends.
