Job summary

Community College of Baltimore County is seeking a dedicated supervisor for the Public Safety Officers on the Baltimore campus. You will oversee daily operations, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate response to incidents.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and eight years of law enforcement experience; a current driver's license and eligibility for Special Police Officer appointment in Maryland are also required.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree; minimum of eight years of increasingly responsible law enforcement experience.
• Some experience in law enforcement in an educational setting preferred.
• Requires current valid driver's license with a responsible driving record.
• Must meet qualifications for appointment to Special Police Officer for State of Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and evaluation to assigned staff.
• Work within the approved departmental budget.
• Supervise and evaluate assigned staff.
• Establish goals and objectives for employees consistent with CCBC's mission.
• Work unsupervised when necessary; handle emergencies; plan, coordinate and direct activities of personnel.
• Ensure campus compliance with laws, policies, and regulations; communicate changes to officers.
• Maintain staffing levels and approve or reject staff absences.
• Review reports and enforce departmental guidelines; prepare timely reports.
• Oversee investigation of crimes and incidents on campus.
• Act as liaison with local law enforcement and fire/EMS.
• Develop and manage department budget; recommend needs to Director.
• Develop and conduct staff training as necessary.
