Job summary

Cedarbrook Senior Living in Michigan is seeking an Assistant Building Services Director to oversee maintenance and environmental services, ensure safe operation of the physical plant, and manage day-to-day facilities activities across the community.

You will supervise staff, develop budgets, maintain capital projects, partner with vendors, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while supporting a high quality living environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or technical degree in a related field.
• Four years of maintenance/environmental services supervision experience.
• Experience with electrical and plumbing is preferred.
• HVAC experience or training preferred.
• Working knowledge of machinery, tools, repair techniques.
• Experience with electrical systems, phone systems, fire panels and emergency preparedness.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervisor with developing, implementing, and updating maintenance policies and procedures.
• Prioritize and fulfill maintenance/environmental service requests in a timely manner.
• Oversee operation and maintenance of the Physical Plant.
• Supervise maintenance/environmental staff: hiring, training, scheduling, and performance.
• Develop capital and annual budgets in collaboration with supervisor.
• Oversee vendor relationships and contracts; recommend actions to Executive Director.
• Conduct inspections and coordinate safety/compliance activities.
• Coordinate safety committees and preventative maintenance programs.
• Conduct daily rounds to ensure regulatory compliance.
