Job summary

Cedarbrook Senior Living in Bloomfield Hills, MI is seeking a dynamic Building Services Director to lead maintenance and environmental services across our community. You will manage the total operation of the physical plant, supervise staff, and ensure high standards of safety and service for residents and families.

You will develop budgets, manage vendor contracts, coordinate safety programs, and respond to emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of supervision in maintenance/environmental services.
• High School Diploma or higher (Bachelor/Technical degree preferred).
• Experience with electrical and plumbing preferred.
• HVAC experience or training including boiler systems.
• Familiar with machinery, tools and repair techniques.
• Experience with fire panels, emergency systems and disaster preparedness.
• Must have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Develops, updates maintenance/environmental services policies and procedures.
• Manages maintenance requests and assigns work orders.
• Oversees physical plant operations and environmental services.
• Coordinates programs and events and drives community vehicle for outside events.
• Develops capital and annual maintenance budgets.
• Oversees vendor contracts and purchasing for maintenance.
• Ensures safety, training, and turnover inspections for apartments prior to occupancy.
• Conducts safety drills and manages disaster preparedness.
• Directly supervises staff; interviews, hires, and trains housekeeping team members.
