Job summary

The State of Tennessee’s Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Division seeks an MHSAS Assistant Director to oversee day-to-day administration of multiple agency contracts for Co-located Mental Health Services programs in Nashville. You will lead contract development, reporting, and budget management while coordinating with state partners to improve outcomes and ensure program compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a social or behavioral science field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in mental health and/or substance use disorder programs.
• 2+ years in program monitoring, evaluation, planning, or coordinating program activities.
• Government and grants/projects administration experience.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25%–35%, primarily in-state.

Responsibilities

• Develop annual contracts and amendments, initiate timely processing and approvals.
• Communicate with contract agencies regarding changes, funding, and budget requests.
• Review program data reports for timeliness, data quality, and outcomes; suggest improvements.
• Develop collaborative relationships with contract agency staff.
• Oversee program goals and service delivery adjustments to meet targets.
• Oversee monthly payments to contractors; monitor spending and budget revisions.
