Job summary

New York Edge, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Director to support the After-School Program in Brooklyn. You will supervise staff, design enrichment activities, coordinate schedules, and report on program progress to the ASPD and Program Manager.

This on-site role requires strong organizational skills and a dedication to student development. Responsibilities include leading trips, aligning activities with school standards, and communicating with parents while ensuring regulatory

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or actively completing BA.
Minimum one year of relevant work experience.
Able to interact with students, staff, and parents.

Responsibilities

Oversee overall supervision of academic counselors and the academic component of the after-school program.
Prepare alternative activities to implement during homework sessions that complement the academic session.
Provide a seamless day that aligns homework sessions with day school standards of learning.
Lead trips off-site and supervise students and staff for the duration of the outing.
Encourage and lead projects that foster academic, cultural, and artistic growth.
Provide coverage for activity specialists.
Promote teamwork, fair play, and sportsmanship, including youth behavior oversight at site and trips.
Communicate program challenges, progress, and success with the After-School Program Director.
Ensure the Afterschool program complies with DYCD, DOE, and DOHMH regulations and timelines.
