Job summary

Wayne State University in Detroit is seeking an Assistant Director, Academic - School of Work to lead and coordinate practicum education across undergraduate and graduate programs. The role focuses on developing curricula, site placement, and collaboration with Curriculum Coordinators and Concentration Chairs to maintain CSWE accreditation standards.

The successful candidate will supervise staff, oversee Continuing Education initiatives, and prepare detailed program reports for the Dean.

Qualifications

Doctorate degree preferred.
Must be a licensed master social worker (LMSW) in Michigan.
Experience with School of Social Work curriculum.
Experience as a Faculty Practicum Liaison and/or Practicum Instructor.

Responsibilities

Coordinate, plan, implement and maintain sound operational plans for Practicum Education.
Develop and improve practicum education curriculum for undergrad and graduate levels.
Lead selection of practicum education sites in line with CSWE accreditation.
Seek opportunities for innovation in practicum education structure and placement processes.
Coordinate practicum placement for BSW and MSW students as needed.
Supervise clerical and academic staff related to practicum education.
Prepare periodic reports on the practicum education program.
Perform related duties as assigned.
