Coordinate, plan, implement and maintain sound operational andorganization plans to support the objectives of Practicum Educationand formulate policies, procedures and processes ensuring that theyare consonant with the mission and goals of the School and theaccreditation standards of the Council on Social Work Education(CSWE).
Develop, plan, implement, maintain and improve, where needed, thepracticum education curriculum for each level of undergraduate andgraduate students and maintain and upgrade the Practicum EducationManual.
Take leadership, consulting with Curriculum Coordinators andConcentration Chairs, for development and oversight ofimplementation of criteria for the selection of practicum educationsites that are consonant with University and School policy and CSWEaccreditation standards.
Seek opportunities for innovation in the organization and structureof practicum education curriculum at the undergraduate and graduatelevels and for practicum education placement processes, includingopportunities for funding that supports innovation in practicumeducation.
Responsible for coordination of practicum placement of all BSWstudents and MSW students as needed.
Supervise clerical and academic staff associated with the School'spracticum education program, including maintaining responsibilityfor orientation of new personnel and ensuring that appropriatestudent records are maintained.
Develop, plan and implement programs of Continuing Educationcourses and training for agency-based practicum instructors.
Supervise and provide consultation to Faculty Practicum Liaisonsand Placement Assistants for practicum-related issues.
Prepare detailed periodic reports on the School's practicumeducation program as requested by the Dean and/or theAssociate/Assistant Dean.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Doctorate degree preferred.
Must be a licensed master social worker (LMSW), State of MichiganLicensing & Regulatory Affairs.
Experience with School of Social Work curriculum.
Experience as a Faculty Practicum Liaison and/or PracticumInstructor.
