Job summary

The Association for Early Learning Leaders seeks an Assistant Director for Small Steps Childcare & Early Learning Center. You will help the Director manage day-to-day operations and uphold high-quality care and education.

Responsibilities include health and safety oversight, staff training, enrollment tasks, and coordinating on a fast-paced, student-centered environment. Strong leadership and communication are essential, with licensing compliance as a key focus.

Qualifications

• Experience in a licensed childcare facility (2+ years).
• Management experience preferred (1+ year).
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to resolve conflicts effectively in a team.
• Organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
• Energetic, flexible, and self-motivated.
• Proven initiative and solid work ethic.
• Leadership and interpersonal skills are essential.

• CPR and First Aid certification preferred; background check required.

Job Summary

As an Assistant Director Small Steps Childcare & Early Learning Center, you will support the Director in managing day-to-day operations of the center and possess a passion for providing high-quality care and education.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director in ensuring the health & safety of all children and staff.
• Perform very light administrative duties, including enrollment and tours; maintain staff and child files, answering phones, responding to emails, staff scheduling, and other administrative responsibilities - mainly in the directors' absence
• Assist the Director with hiring and training new staff members - A big part of your role would be training, onboarding and coaching teachers
• Maintain and enforce state licensing regulations and policy compliance
• Manage the operation of the school in the Director's absence

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a licensed childcare facility
• Minimum of 1 year in a management position (preferred but not required)
• Must possess strong communication skills
• The ability to evaluate and resolve conflict

• Shows initiative; strong work ethic
