Job summary

The Learning Experience in Central Connecticut is seeking an Assistant Center Director to support daily center operations, develop our teaching team, and ensure a high-quality experience for children and families.

With 1 year of childcare leadership preferred, you will help recruit, train, coach staff, and maintain licensing compliance. You’ll oversee scheduling, payroll, and enrollment efforts, while delivering excellent service to families and maintaining operations.

Qualifications

• Leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in childcare leadership and center operations.
• Knowledge of Connecticut licensing regulations and compliance.
• Passion for early childhood education and families served.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily center operations with the Center Director.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and coaching of teachers and staff.
• Ensure licensing, health, safety standards, and company policies are followed.
• Support curriculum implementation and classroom excellence.
• Foster relationships with children, families, and staff with strong customer service.
• Assist with enrollment efforts, tours, and family retention initiatives.
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, payroll, inventory, purchasing, and admin tasks.
• Step into classrooms to maintain ratios and daily workflow.
• Coordinate marketing, family events, and community outreach.

We are seeking a passionate and organized Assistant Center Director to support daily center operations, develop our teaching team, and help create an exceptional experience for children and families.

As an Assistant Center Director, You Will:

• Partner with the Center Director to oversee daily center operations and ensure a positive, productive school culture.
• Support the recruitment, onboarding, training, and coaching of teachers and staff.
• Help ensure compliance with Connecticut licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
• Support teachers in implementing The Learning Experience curriculum and maintaining excellence in the classroom.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, and staff while providing exceptional customer service.
• Conduct center tours, assist with enrollment efforts, and support family retention initiatives.
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, payroll, inventory management, purchasing, and administrative responsibilities.
• Step into classrooms as needed to provide support, maintain ratios, and ensure smooth daily operations.
• Help coordinate marketing initiatives, family events, and community outreach activities.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of childcare, daycare, or preschool leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Connecticut licensing regulations and childcare compliance requirements.
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• A passion for early childhood education and the TLE mission of making a positive difference in the lives of children and families.
