Job summary

Only About Children invites applications for an Assistant Director at our Charlemont campus. You will work with the Campus Director to oversee operations, safety, team leadership and family experience, creating a calm, caring environment where children learn and families feel heard.

We value warm, collaborative leaders who support educators, build strong relationships and promote quality practice. A Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care is required, with experience as a senior educator

Qualifications

• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is the minimum.
• Experience as a senior educator, Room Leader, Educational Leader or Assistant Director.
• Knowledge of the NQF, Child Safe Standards and relevant legislation.
• Confidence supporting educators, families, compliance and operations.
• Strong communication with sensitive conversations.
• Warm, practical, people-first leadership.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations, routines and priorities to keep campus calm.
• Guide Room Leaders and teams, onboarding and professional development.
• Build respectful relationships with families and respond with care.
• Strengthen child safety, compliance and quality practice.
• Support documentation, reflection and continuous improvement.
• Provide calm, practical leadership to rooms as needed.
• Help campus culture grow through people and performance.

About Our Charlemont Campus

At Charlemont, my campus is beginning a brand-new story. I arrive in the Geelong region, at a new purpose-built campus on Batten Road with six rooms, new resources and a big outdoor yard made for children like me. Everything is being shaped with care from the start.

I can learn in spaces for nursery, toddler and kindergarten children, with room to move, wonder and belong. New routines, friendships and traditions can grow here. This is a place where my ideas can be noticed from the beginning and my confidence can grow with the community.

As Assistant Director, you will work with the Campus Director to support operations, child safety, team leadership, family experience and quality practice.

What You'll Bring

• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care as a minimum.
