Job summary

Cedarbrook Senior Living in Bloomfield Hills is seeking an Assistant Front of the House Food Service Manager to lead daily dining operations for residents and guests, partnering with the Executive Chef and Supervisors to deliver high standards.

This role requires knowledge of clinical diets, prior senior living or healthcare experience, and strong verbal and written communication, as well as the ability to train staff, manage schedules, and uphold safety and sanitation.

Qualifications

• Verbal, written and active listening skills are required.
• Ability to communicate clearly with residents, families and team members.
• Experience coordinating dining room operations is a plus.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation principles is expected.
• Experience in senior living or healthcare is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works with Executive Chef and sous chef to execute daily meal services for residents and guests.
• Responsible for daily room services and all dining room operations.
• Resolves dining room service concerns promptly.
• Maintains high standards and productivity in dining room operations.
• Ensures staff wear proper uniform and safety shoes at all times.
• Plans daily dining room setup, service and side-work based on resident meal counts.
• Keeps cleaning and maintenance schedules current.
• Adheres to local/state laws and policies to maintain compliance.
• Selects, counsels and disciplines Food Service team members.
• Promotes a safe work environment and professional conduct.
• Interacts positively with supervisor, management, residents and public.
• Produces high-volume, accurate work and maintains timeliness.
• Demonstrates flexibility with schedule, including holidays and extra shifts.
