Job summary

Glenwood Health Center by Harborview is seeking an Assistant Dietary Manager to oversee daily food service operations and ensure therapeutic diets meet physician orders and regulatory standards.

The role requires experience in healthcare food service, knowledge of therapeutic diets, and ServSafe/food safety certifications, with leadership responsibilities for dietary staff and cost-conscious operation.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in food service management, preferably in a long-term care or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets, regulatory dietary standards, and infection control procedures.
• ServSafe Certification or equivalent food safety certification.
• Certified Food Manager or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the food service department
• Ensure proper preparation and service of therapeutic diets in compliance with physician orders and regulatory standards
• Plan and adjust menus to meet the nutritional needs of residents, including consultant review and follow-up on dietary recommendations
• Monitor and assess resident weights upon admission, monthly, and during any significant change in condition
• Set and manage performance standards for food service delivery, optimizing efficiency, quality, and satisfaction
• Ensure proper resource planning, cost control, and operational processes within the department
• Supervise and support dietary staff, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and hospitality
• Duties as assigned
