Job summary

Express, Inc. is seeking a Design Assistant to support the design team in creating detailed tech packs, updating design decks, and communicating with cross-functional partners. The role involves sketching, organizing design materials, and contributing to trend research.

You will work closely with the Sr. Designer to develop product across assigned categories, participate in fittings, and maintain design archives. A strong eye for brand direction and multi-tasking ability are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design required.
• 0–3 years of experience in fashion design preferred.
• Strong sketching and design skills; keen trend awareness.
• Proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop; ability to create tech packs.

Responsibilities

• Support the designer and design process across all facets.
• Create flat technical Illustrator sketches for tech packs.
• Develop and update design layouts, color, trims, and references.
• Prepare line sheets, print boards, fabric boards for meetings.
• Take detailed notes during fittings and communicate with cross-functional teams.
