EXPRESS, NEW YORK OFFICE is seeking a fashion design assistant to support the design team across ideation, fittings, and development. You will create detailed tech packs, sketches, and design boards, while coordinating with cross-functional partners and overseas offices to meet weekly milestones.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Apparel Design and 0–3 years of experience, plus strong sketching, organizational, and communication skills to contribute to seasonal collections.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design.
• Experience: 0 - 3 years.
• Eye for the brand with strong design and sketching skills and great trend awareness.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; team player attitude.
• Proficiency in WebPDM, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Google.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support Design team in development and innovation of ideas and trends.
• Participate in research and development of seasonal trends from Runway, Magazines and blogs.
• Assist in shopping retail and designer markets to seek new ideas.
• Assist in product development at all stages under guidance of Designer.
• Sketch and develop designs into tech packs; create flat Illustrator sketches.
• Prepare line sheets, print boards, fabric boards and presentation materials.
• Communicate daily with cross‑functional teams and overseas offices.
