The Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) is seeking a strategic, innovative, and results‑driven executive to serve as the Assistant Deputy Administrator for Support Services. This position serves as second‑in‑command to the Deputy Administrator and provides executive leadership and operational oversight for a broad portfolio of essential agency functions.
The Assistant Deputy Administrator will help lead Human Resources and Organizational Development, Facility Management and Engineering, Departmental Services, Procurement, Civil Rights and Fair Practices, Risk, Safety and Fleet Management, Planning, Capital Programming, Environmental Compliance, and Asset Management.
The successful candidate will oversee complex operations, guide division leaders, manage competing priorities, monitor budgets and organizational performance, and ensure compliance with federal and state requirements. This executive will also lead cross‑functional initiatives, respond to high‑risk or time‑sensitive operational matters, and develop innovative, data‑informed solutions that improve efficiency, employee safety, regulatory compliance, and customer service.

The current vacancy exists at MDOT MVA in the office of Support Services, which is located in Glen Burnie, MD (Anne Arundel County).
This position may allow a hybrid work schedule, including telework and onsite work hours.

Note: U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as defined under the Minimum Qualifications may be substituted for the required education and experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
