Job summary

Maryland Department of Transportation’s Motor Vehicle Administration seeks an experienced executive to serve as Assistant Deputy Administrator for Support Services. This role is second-in-command to the Deputy Administrator and oversees a broad portfolio including Human Resources, Facility Management and Engineering, Procurement, Civil Rights, Risk, Safety, and Asset Management.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional experience in administration, operations, human resources, facilities, procurement, planning, risk management, regulatory compliance, or another support-services function.
• At least four years of this experience must have included senior-level management responsibility involving supervision of managers or professional staff, organizational planning, policy implementation, budget or resource oversight.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and operational oversight for the divisions and programs within Support Services.
• Serve as second-in-command to the Deputy Administrator and act on their behalf during absences.
• Direct and coordinate daily operations of Human Resources, Facility Management & Engineering, Departmental Services, Procurement, Civil Rights & Fair Practices, Risk, Safety & Fleet Management, Planning, Capital Programming, Environmental Compliance, and Asset Management.
• Provide leadership to division directors, managers, professional staff, and contractors.
• Establish operational priorities, allocate resources, monitor performance, and ensure continuity of essential agency services.
