Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Deli Manager to lead one of the store’s busiest teams and help customers make healthy food choices. You will support the Deli Manager in merchandising, ordering, inventory, scheduling, and staff development to ensure exceptional service and quality.

The role emphasizes strong communication, leadership, and adherence to safety standards, with opportunities for growth in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in deli or related food service.
• Flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with a customer-focused approach.
• Proven leadership to build, motivate and maintain staff with knowledge of margins and weekly sales numbers.
• Detail-oriented with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Food safety certification and compliance with federal, state and company standards.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Deli Manager in managing and merchandising the department for productivity and profit.
• Oversee ordering, inventory controls, product quality, and Deli team supervision.
• Coordinate production, merchandising and sales through planning, direction, and teamwork.
• Help lead a team focused on delivering high-quality products and exceptional customer service.
• Assist in hiring, training, and developing the Deli staff.
• Unload deliveries and maintain deli equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation guidelines and regulations.
