Position Overview

The Assistant Department Deli Manager assists and supports the Deli Manager's responsibility for the direction and supervision of all functions and activities of Deli Department personnel to achieve the sales and profit goals established for the department. This role ensures that personnel work shifts contribute to the store's financial interests. The Assistant Department Deli Manager will fill in when the Deli Manager is absent.

Description

Job Responsibilities include:

1. Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies regarding Deli operations, safety, and sanitation.
2. Support in achieving financial goals such as sales, gross profit maximization, and minimizing shrink and supply expenses.
3. Take customer orders accurately for prepared foods and other specialty Deli products.
4. Assist in weekly ordering to ensure adequate supply levels.
5. Adhere to company policies in processing, preparation, and packaging of products.
6. Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
7. Handle necessary paperwork related to the Deli Department.
8. Participate in the selection, training, development, and scheduling of Deli staff.
9. Perform tasks as assigned by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
10. Travel is not required.

Environment

Store environment ranges from 50F to 90F in a Grocery Warehouse setting.

Skills

Required skills include basic computer skills, ability to read, write, perform basic math, and physical ability to handle tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and other physical activities.

Experience

2-5 years of grocery store retail experience.
