Job Overview

Assist the Team Leader in daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects. Lead and develop Team Members to ensure excellent customer service and adherence to company standards. Support WFM core values, promote programs and initiatives, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop store layout and product merchandising strategies.
  • Collaborate with Team Leader to meet sales, purchasing, and labor goals.
  • Analyze sales reports and labor metrics.
  • Maintain product knowledge and stay updated on new offerings.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure proper paperwork processing.
  • Address team concerns and act as departmental lead in the Team Leader's absence.
  • Ensure high standards of retail execution.
  • Foster a positive team environment and uphold morale.
  • Communicate and embody WFM vision and goals.
  • Monitor customer flow and needs, directing team members accordingly.
  • Hire, train, mentor, motivate, and evaluate team members.
Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and temperature variations.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Use of tools and equipment like knives, pallet jacks, and ladders.
