Duke University in Durham, NC is seeking an Assistant Dean of Students to advance student well-being, promote personal growth, and foster a campus culture rooted in care, accountability, and inclusion.

You will lead student care and conduct processes, coordinate with counseling services, residence life, and faculty, and develop training and prevention programs to support students academically, socially, and personally.

Formación

• Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Student Services, or a related field.
• Three years of post-master's professional experience in higher education, student affairs, counseling, student support services, or a related environment.
• An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Responsabilidades

• Provide individualized support to students experiencing emotional, mental health, academic, or personal challenges.
• Coordinate crisis interventions and connect students with campus/community resources.
• Collaborate with counseling services, academic advisors, residence life staff, faculty, and partners to ensure coordinated support strategies.
• Maintain ongoing communication and follow-up with students receiving assistance.
• Foster a supportive environment that encourages resilience and student success.
• Administer student conduct processes by investigating reports of misconduct and potential policy violations.
• Meet with students in conduct matters to gather information and support educational outcomes.
• Partner with campus security, residence life, faculty, and stakeholders to address behavioral concerns.
• Facilitate conduct hearings and recommend outcomes consistent with policies.
• Develop training, outreach, and prevention programs focusing on student well-being and inclusion.
• Provide operational support including Dean-on-Call rotations and policy development.
