Job summary

John A. Logan College seeks an Assistant Dean for Health Sciences to guide division-level academic leadership, advance strategic priorities, oversee fiscal management, quality improvement, and compliance across programs.

The role includes faculty recruitment, evaluation, and professional development coordination, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and workforce needs. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s in a relevant field, 3+ years of instructional and health sciences

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Educational Administration, Higher Education Leadership, or a health sciences–related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of three (3) years of instructional experience in a postsecondary or healthcare education setting.
• Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in a healthcare or health sciences–related field.
• Demonstrated experience providing leadership for personnel, projects, programs, or events.
• Experience building and sustaining effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Exercise delegated authority in the recruitment, credentialing, evaluation, and supervision of full-time and adjunct faculty.
• Provide leadership in resolving student, faculty, and operational issues using sound judgment and collaborative decision-making.
• Serve as a division-level leader supporting the strategic direction of Health Sciences programs.
• Engage in continuous quality improvement efforts to ensure academic excellence and program effectiveness.
• Support Academic Affairs Administration in the development and implementation of enrollment, retention, and student success initiatives.
