Job summary

Columbia College invites applications for the Dean of the School of Health Sciences. The Dean will provide overarching academic leadership, strategic direction, and budget stewardship to advance the School’s mission within a transformative liberal arts framework.

Key responsibilities include supervising deans and program chairs, guiding curriculum development, accreditation, and engagement with community partners to align health sciences programs with workforce needs and regional impact.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree required from a relevant field (natural/physical/clinical/allied health/public health).
• Record of teaching, scholarship and service at professorial level at Columbia College.
• Demonstrated ability to lead collaboratively across multiple disciplines and to work with faculty, students, administrators, and external partners.
• Experience with academic planning, program assessment, faculty development, and resource management.
• Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee School-wide curriculum and programs.
• Hire and supervise School faculty and staff; manage budget and resources.
• Collaborate with College administration to advance strategic priorities.
• Engage with admissions, enrollment, development, and external partners.
• Represent the School externally and cultivate community partnerships.

Education

Terminal degree in natural, physical, clinical, allied health, public health, or closely related field
