New York University (NYU) seeks an Assistant Dean for Professional Development in the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (GSAS). The role designs, coordinates, and evaluates professional development services for graduate students across disciplines and directs components of the Public Humanities PhD Initiative, interfacing with departments and external partners.

Qualifications

Doctoral degree in relevant field with university experience.
Preferred: Doctoral degree in Humanities or Social Sciences.
5+ years in career development, public humanities, or higher education.
Demonstrated experience in higher education, grant writing, or professional development programming.
Excellent written, verbal, administrative, and communication skills; grant writing essential.

Responsibilities

Oversee organization, development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of professional development services for graduate students.
Direct all co-curricular components of the Public Humanities PhD Initiative and manage internship placements.
Cultivate relationships with non-profit, governmental and private sector organizations for internships.
Interface with Arts & Science departments and support overall GSAS professional development programming.
