Job summary

New York University’s Graduate School of Arts & Science (GSAS) seeks an Assistant Dean for Professional Development to organize, develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate graduate student professional services across disciplines.

This role directs the Public Humanities PhD Initiative, builds partnerships with nonprofit, government, and private sector organizations for internships, and leads co-curricular skill-building workshops and evaluation efforts.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field required.
• Experience in a university setting and knowledge of graduate education.
• Grant writing and management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize, develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate professional development services for graduate students across disciplines.
• Direct the Public Humanities PhD Initiative and oversee student-facing aspects.
• Cultivate relationships with nonprofit, governmental, and private sector partners to support internships.
• Oversee administrative support for the GSAS professional development program.
• Interface with Arts & Science departments and external partners to advance professional development.
