Little Legends Learning Center, Inc in Champaign, IL is seeking a full-time Assistant Daycare Teacher to join our caring team. You will support lead teachers, help create age-appropriate activities, and help manage a lively classroom of two-year-olds.

Typical hours are Monday through Friday, with a 8:15 am - 5:15 pm or 8:45 am - 5:45 pm schedule. You’ll assist with daily routines, meals, cleanliness, and parent communications while promoting a safe, nurturing, and playful learning environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of child development experience in a preschool, kindergarten, or licensed daycare.
• 3 written references.
• CPR/first aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Gateways to Opportunity membership or willingness to join upon hire.
• Food handler certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to submit to a physical.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support for lead teachers with two-year-olds.
• Help write age-appropriate curriculum and prepare lesson materials.
• Keep children engaged and on the classroom schedule.
• Assist with daily activities like hand washing, dressing, potty training, and diaper changing.
• Prepare snacks and lunches following dietary restrictions.
• Clean room and sanitize toys and surfaces after class.
• Record daily notes and meet with parents to discuss the day.
• Be a positive presence that helps children have fun and learn.

YOUR LIFE AS AN ASSISTANT DAYCARE TEACHER

This childcare position typically works Monday - Friday. Full-time hours are 8:15 am - 5:15 pm OR 8:45 am - 5:45 pm.

As an Assistant Daycare Teacher, you provide critical classroom support for our teachers as they lead classes of two-year-olds. You are a kind and playful person who can keep up with the energy and big personalities of our little kids. For every class, you assist the lead teacher with writing an age-appropriate curriculum that keeps the kids engaged and learning. You prepare materials for lesson plans and activities beforehand, and you help keep the children on-task and on the classroom schedule.

Patiently, you assist the children with daily activities like hand washing, dressing, potty training, and diaper changing. You prepare snacks and lunches for the kids, strictly following all dietary restrictions. After every class, you help clean the room and sanitize all toys and commonly touched surfaces. You keep daily records for each child, and you meet with their parents to talk with them about the day. You feel great about being a positive presence who helps children have fun and learn at the same time!
