Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promotes excellent customer relations by instilling positive customer-focused behavior with associates. Greets customers, answers questions, and resolves concerns promptly and professionally. Focuses on continuous improvement in all areas of the department.
- Assists the Customer Experience Manager in overseeing front-end operations and performs their duties in their absence. May assume full responsibility for store operations if management is absent.
- Enforces cash handling controls, security measures, and adheres to all policies and laws related to front-end operations, including anti-money laundering, tobacco and alcohol sales, lottery, and price accuracy. Oversees bookkeeping procedures.
- Supports associates with cash register functions, conducts audits, and assists in onboarding and training new associates to ensure efficient checkout experiences.
- Uses scheduling systems to update associate availabilities and schedules to meet business demands while maintaining budgeted labor rates and sales goals.
- Manages supply costs and ensures adequate inventory levels.
- Controls customer flow at the front end, ensures sufficient checkout lanes are open, and monitors breaks to minimize wait times.
- Oversees parking lot and store sanitation, maintains cleanliness, and complies with health and safety standards.
- Maintains equipment functionality, communicates promotions, and participates in daily store huddles.
- May assist with receiving deliveries, operating equipment, and other related duties as trained.
- Ensures proper use of personal protective equipment and may assist in other departments as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises all department associates and may assume full leadership of the store in the absence of management, depending on store size and staffing.
