Job summary

DeKalb County Schools is seeking an Assistant Custodian for a 9-month, 4-hour position. The role reports to the principal and involves keeping the campus clean, including restrooms and floors, and assisting the custodian as needed.

• Must be strong enough to do required work without being subjected to excessive danger to his/her person (i.e., be able to bend, twist and squat, work on a ladder without causing dizziness, to carry desks, tables and other heavy furniture or equipment,).

REPORTS TO:

• Principal (Director) or Principal's designee

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Is responsible to the principal and shall perform duties as set forth by the principal

• Shall perform other position related duties as assigned by the principal within reason and not to exceed time limits.
• Must wear a lift belt when performing lifting duties.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and work year to be according to the current approved/applicable salary schedule.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
