Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in healthcare or education field.
• Current Certified Clinical Medical Assistant credential.
• Two or more years of recent clinical experience within the previous five years and at least one year of supervisory and instructional experience.
• Knowledge of adult training methods, curriculum design and development, and evaluation methodology.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse training participants, faculty, staff, and partners.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver non-credit workforce and certification training programs for entry- to mid-level healthcare careers.
• Establish, maintain, and improve healthcare Education Programs related to Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EKG, and other training programs.
• Provide classroom, laboratory, work-based learning, and online instruction at Reynolds and partner sites.
• Coordinate, mentor, and evaluate adjunct instructors to ensure instructional quality.
• Teach effectively in healthcare laboratory, classroom, clinical, and online environments.

CCWA's primary mission is to provide quality workforce training solutions throughout the Greater Richmond region. In support of this mission, the Clinical Medical Assistant Coordinator/Instructor is responsible for coordinating and delivering non-credit workforce and certification training programs that prepare students for entry- to mid-level nursing and healthcare careers and lead to industry-recognized credentials. The Clinical Medical Assistant Coordinator/Instructor will establish, maintain, and continuously improve the healthcare Education Programs related to Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EKG, and other assigned training programs. The instructor will provide classroom, laboratory, work-based learning, and online instruction at Reynolds and Brightpoint Community College locations, as well as at employer and workforce partner sites throughout Central Virginia.

Responsibilities include developing and updating curriculum, conducting quality assurance reviews of certification programs, maintaining classroom and laboratory equipment, and serving as the subject matter expert for curriculum and program content during employer and partner meetings. The instructor will also coordinate, mentor, and evaluate adjunct instructors to ensure instructional quality and program effectiveness. The successful candidate must be able to effectively teach and facilitate learning in healthcare laboratory, classroom, clinical, and online environments.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in healthcare or education field.
• Current Certified Clinical Medical Assistant credential.
• Have two or more years of recent clinical experience within the previous five years and at least one year of supervisory and instructional experience.
• Considerable knowledge of healthcare training and development for entry to mid-level positions within healthcare certification programs.
• Knowledge of adult training methods, curriculum design and development, and evaluation methodology.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a diverse population of training participants, faculty, staff, and business and community partners.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct professional presentations to employers and workforce partners.
• Demonstrated ability to organize, manage, and prioritize multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
• Demonstrated ability to complete projects and assignments independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with clinical placements and healthcare employer partnerships.
